On the 20th after Bismarck we hightailed to Chatsowrth, Iowa in hopes of getting the evening DAIR train out of Sioux City. We arrived in Hawarden as a local was finishing up for the day with the lone DAIR GP20 leading. We then made it to Westfield before finding the northbound. Construction was completed in Apr. 2017 and the pipeline went into service in June 2017. [ 1] [ 3] [ 37]At Elk Point the D&I cuvres away from the Yankton line and heads for Akron Iowa and Hawarden, IA. Having crossed the Big Sioux river about 5 miles south of Westfield, IA the line follows the Big Sioux river north and in the spring this line is often under water. The old Milw depot also still stands at Akron. .
